The book 'Apparent in Hindsight' provides fascinating insight into auto industry. Do not get bogged down if you are not from auto industry. The context has been explained quite well. Also the book has been written like a story.
I consider this to be a management story book on 'Rebirth'; the rebirth or renewal of the two main characters of the book.
The story begins with the problem of the two main characters of the book who are from two different functional areas of the same organization but are fierce enemies. Then the story unfolds beautifully about their struggle on professional as well as personal front and their search for answer. In the end they discover themselves to be a far greater person than what they were.
Identifying the root cause of the problem, finding the solution direction and implementing the solution step by step as described in the book is very profound.
The three powerful concepts, 'ruling out status quo as an option forces one to act', 'to make a change one needs capacity' and 'everyone needs a coach to make a transition', as part of change management process has been illustrated nicely.
Once you start reading the book, you can't wait until you finish it.
Highly recommended.
