I have been an agent for 25 years and finally got the opportunity to have my own agency. For the last three years, I have the opportunity to work for another agency in Jamie Brown's territory and marveled at their numbers and I said numbers because he has two agencies and both are top performers.Someday I will like to have those same numbers but I am in Stage 1 at the moment.

I have worked both for State Farm and with other companies... this book is simple, but if you don't master the basics discussed, you decrease your odds of every being successful!
I read this book like a business plan. The book confirmed many of the action plans in my business plan and showed me ways I could change for the better. The book selection in each chapter were mostly ones that I had read but now rethought in context to growing my business. Like my business plan I will keep it available to review through out the year.
Very motivational. After being an agent for 13 years it makes me want to get out and do better than I have already done.
The numbers testify to the fact that James Brown is the real deal. His "secret" is simple. Discipline and execution. He clarifies that there is no magic but that success is achievable. Great read for anyone that needs a little help making those critical daily decisions.
It was an ok book. Good to get his history and and a little bit of how he started. I would of like a lot more details on office set up and reveiw processes. A very quick read which was nice but doesn't deliver anything new. He definitely spends a lot on marketting which seems to work for him. The handwritten notes are a great idea. I would of like to know how he compensates his team and his managers. This tends to be a lot of high level overview and belief systems and left me wanting more info on the micro level, the day to day operations stuff.
I recommend this book to anyone considering becoming an agent or any existing agent who's looking to revive his/her business. This book brings you back to 'the basics' and makes you realize why you wanted to become an agent in the first place! James puts the fun back in insurance and outlines how when everyone feels valued, (your team, your clients, and you) everyone wins! Although the practices are simple and very attainable, success will NOT come overnight. You MUST put in the work!
Another agent referred this book to me and I've since referred it to my study group of agents. It's an easy read (I read a chapter every 1-2 days) with a lot of great ideas. Enjoy!
Nothing earth shattering and a lot of information has been around awhile. However, information is a GREAT reminder on the little things that make a difference and maintaining an attitude of growth and being positive. Information is well laid out and put forth in a clear and concise manner. As a 24 yr old veteran in the P&C as well as life and health industry I recommend this book for those with all levels of experience (unless you live in my area and compete against me) and I think rereading every 60-90 days is a great idea. Well worth the cost.
